Colours

Today I thought we could play a colour matching and sorting game. You on the other hand thought we could use the objects to build towers, rockets and paint with the basting brush.

Pizza Night

Tonight was home made pizza night, we had great fun rolling out the dough together and making our own pizza’s (and a special baby one for your friends). You picked out your own toppings although the olives all went into your mouth and not on the pizza and the ham quickly came off the pizza well and truly before cooking too. It was a hard task actually keeping any toppings on your pizza and out of your mouth ;)

William & Eilidh

William and Eilidh are two of the cheekiest friends I know.

These two munchkins have known each other since there were just a few months old, people often mistake them for twins.

Although they aren’t siblings, they do spend a lot of time together. They go to Country Kids together once or twice a week, then there is mum’s group once a week and swimming lessons on Saturdays. Where ever they are, and what ever they are doing, the are the best of friends.

Today we watched some tv, made cup cakes and played with the container of coloured rice. Luckily I wanted to vacuum the kitchen floor.

You haven’t been well over the last few days so you have gotten to watch a lot more tv then normal. Today you were still feeling a little out of sorts so it’s been a quiet day at home.

Today was the Xmas party and mini concert at Country Kids. You were the very proud and enthusiastic ringer of the bells. You are so very loved by all your teachers at CK, everyone thinks you are ALWAYS such a good boy.

Best friends

Amigo, Punchenello, Mickey, Max and Hobbes

2.5 years along and you are FINALLY sleeping in your own bed all night, mostly. Some nights you wake a time or two, and depending how tired we are you either go back to sleep, eventually, in your bed or we just put you in with us. You do not know how much more energy this has given your poor exhausted mother. To no longer have a cuddly wriggly boy in my bed, constantly trying to put his hand down my shirt to hold my nipple, is glorious! I do adore snuggling with you in bed every now and then, and who can reject special good night kisses that only happen when you sleep with us, but right now the greatest joy is to wake up in the morning and see you still asleep in your own bed!

Now if we can get the toilet training accident free…

What a lovely morning we had! You daddy and I packed up into the car and went out for breakfast, followed by morning tea (at the same place). You had a great time running around the garden and your a big fan of scones with jam and cream. You used your cuteness for evil a lot today, you monkey.

Hey there my little chatterbox,
Wow how your vocabulary has increased over the past few weeks. We are currently in Australia again visiting relatives and friends and just since being here, you have learnt dozens and dozens of new words. Each day I think that I should start writing a list of them, and then you come out with a new one. Your word of the day today is “done”. Done with dinner, done with watching tv or done with playing a certain game or activity. Let’s see if I can list just a few:

Eep = sleep but also sounds like “tweet” which is your name for the Angry Birds game on my iPad
Ats = Tats, or stamps on people’s hands, arms and legs (sometimes Uncle Kye is Uncle Tats, but your saying “eye” to meaning Kye – your a big fan of your Uncle this trip, and he’s been pretty taken with you too)
Apple Juice – now this ones a big deal because it’s a conscious effort on your part to say two words you know, putting them together in a sentence, you also gave “moo juice” a try today
Nanny and Poppy, Uncle and Aunty make the list, as does Poppop (meaning great poppy Stan), your not so confident with Grandpa or even just Pa yet and use it very sparingly. However, you still seem to have managed to wrap your Grandpa around your little pinkie this last two weeks and have him taking you out on adventures in the backyard or off down the road to various parks and other wondrous places.
Door, Car, Wotwot, Toot (train), Key, Shoes, Bum (one of your favorites), the usual manners of a well breed child – yes, no, ta and please.
Pizza and Toast – very frequent words and they aren’t just your words for hungry (that would be “eat”), when you say these two, your really hopping it gets results
The other night when we were getting you ready for bed, you rolled out a long list of words, hoping one would get the desired effect of bed time delay (water, juice, eat, toast, bath, apple juice), you did it with such delight and mischief, very adorable – you’ve really got your cheeky games sorted out.

Well, I’m very sure there are more words for this list, but it’s late and I’m really tired so I’ll leave it there for now. Love you.

20 months

You have not been well this past week I’m afraid. Gastro type bug with a fever, a slight ear infection and a soar throat and blood in your stool (and what mucusy/liquid stool it was). We are still waiting on test results to come back regarding what the bug actually was that’s making you sick, but the doctor didn’t seem too worried. Your in good spirits for the most part however, you’ve fallen asleep in my arms a couple of times this week and your very clinging for me (which is cute and lovely). Really though your taking it in your stride like you do just about everything else.

It feels like your so grown up at the moment, your settling yourself into bed now without needing us in there after story time. Your starting to play just a little longer on your own (mostly you just like to be able to see us and talk to us even if we aren’t exactly playing with you). Your vocabulary is increasing, you said “one, two, three” the other day and Gemma and Joni, but all just the once and your refuse to repeat them again. It seems that when you find a word, you try it out and if your not happy with the result you wont to hold back on it for a while longer till you’ve got it worked out. Your getting very good at saying “ta”, especially when someone is holding something you would like, then you get a very cheeky look on your face, reach up and say “ta” as you take possession of the new treasure.

Somethings, however, don’t change, and you still think that water is just about the best thing ever invented. Your greatest delight is getting a bottle or other container of water and then quickly running up to someone and poring it on their feet (mostly their feet, your not too particular about what other parts of them get in the way).

You are still a gorgeous, cheerful, happy and friendly little boy. Always ready to play with others and you seem to be the least inclined to bully the other little kids to gain possession of a toy, which is nice. You particularly seem to enjoy the company of slightly older children, and will happily follow them around for hours and attempt what ever they are doing.

We still have Gemma with us for a while more, you really seem to enjoy your outings with her, visiting Dexter, the park and the library, although your not always that keen to leave me and some days you simply refuse to be party to parting.

Your Poppy Lenny will be arriving in a few weeks to stay with us for about 2.5 weeks. Then we will be flying back to Australia to visit him again as well as all out other relatives. Even your Aunty Fiona will be here visiting from London.
